What is mean by Favicons?

Favicon - which is the short form of Favorites Icons. These are small designs which is used in the URL bar of a browser and in the favorite menus.

These favicons are used only to attract visitors and to give website a small additional beauty.
Favicons are going to do nothing for webmasters if they think in SEO point of view.
Most of the webmasters use their logo to make this favicon. It resembles their logo. Using this will give visitors a cool look.

Favicons becomes more popular when started using Internet Explorer. It gives some extra look when the Address bar and the Favorites folder carries this icons. Later on all browsers like Mozila, Netscape and some browsers supports this according to their Interface.

Website Icons - Where we can use these Icons?

Is this a tought term for you to understand what is meant by "Website Icons". The term it self clearly explains the meaning.

Yes, as of my opinion these are the icons used in the website applications. It almost have the same functionalities like Application Icons.

These Icons will be understandable by all the people around the world, because they are designed for the univesal customers with the guideliness.

If we visit a website, we come across more and more Actions, If we explain all the actions with detailed description then we are not able to look a decent and professional website.

In this case icons plays a major role, to represent action in a simplified form.

Eg for Website Icons, using a Question Mark Symbol, "?" will represent two actions. "About US" or else "FAQ".

What Happen If we Use too many Elements while designing Single Icon?

We are designing icons for the past few days to attract our site visitors with new Icon packages.

While designing one of my guy tried designing icon with more number of elements in it around 3.

Its the common mistake that most of us will do while designing icons. Icon are usually a small object to represent actions.

So Icons must be more professional with a simple look.

Usually by designing icons with 3-4 objects will cause problems.

If we are desiging it for Windows Vista then we can use the size they support. Usually the icon will look somewhat good if its bigger.

SO when size goes down to smaller then the Icon will not be upto the mark we expect. It will loose its quality and the icon visiblity will also be poor.

Finally, from my experience we should avoid using so many objects while designing a single Icon.... :)

This is my first blog. I have started this blog to share things about Icons.

Due to my in the designing field I was here with you to speak about Icons.
I had some experience in designing icons and we can call it in different name as their uses.
Most of us will name these small images as icons, icon, xp icons, xp style icons, buddy icons,
desktop icons, funny icons , and so on.....

This is especially due to the use of these icons and their design. So we are calling it as funny icons , desktop icons and so on...
